Currently, 3D printers are rapidly spreading in the world, the technology can efficiently customize clients products or components. While, compared with traditional way of mass production plastic parts by molds, efficiency of 3D printers is poor, so it's not promissing to be used for production of home appliance and auto parts. Panasonic plans to use 3D printers for home appliance molds, expecting to reduce over half of molds fabrication lead time.
